Many thanks for your note of the 10th

I have had a word with Faskin and ligham about the possibility of aid from the Australian Government to the Universities of Hong Kong and Malaya forming the subject of a discussion with Mr. Menzies during his forthcoming visit, and we all feel that the matter is not yet sufficiently far for the time to be ripe for such discussion. Since our last talk about the University of Hong Kong with the Governor we have been trying to resolve some of the various financial diffi- culties, and this has led to some delay in getting ahoad as quickly as we should like.
